The internet has changed the way we communicate, do business, shop as well and believe it or not it has a great impact on the education system of our country. Many people believe that comfort and cost-effectiveness are two of the many advantages e-learning students to enjoy. But one question was bugging me with regards to online learning: “Do You Get The Same Education When Doing An Online Degree?” This is a very tough question to answer considering that there are many individuals who have graduated with honors after many years of hard labor in finishing their online degree programs. And it is true that the educational system of our country is totally changing every step of the way, this includes the slow but constant evolution of traditional education and the emerging of countless online degrees being offered by educational institutions from all across the world.
What exactly is online education? Is it safe to say that distance learning can replace traditional classroom-setting education? For more than 2 decades distance learning has slowly invaded the country and it is also being welcomed with open arms by many students.
Online education is the opposite of traditional education. Though the aim of e-learning is totally the same as conventional education, its mode of information access differs so much with the classroom-setting class wherein the professor stays in front of his students to deliver information and feed it to his students. With online learning, students have to be responsible enough to access their training materials online. Of course, everything is online and it can be accessed by the student anytime and anywhere he wants. There is also no need for one to buy textbooks because all reading materials are provided online through e-book.
The advantage of enrolling online is that one can obtain college degree without spending so much time traveling to and fro the school campus. This is especially very important to students who live in an area where school campus is far from home. Another advantage is that one has the opportunity to choose whatever online program he desires because there is no such thing as distance barrier when it comes to online education. Even those people who are in Asia can enroll in an online program being offered by institutions from Europe. However, in my humble opinion, I don’t think online education can ever replace conventional learning. It is like asking if a real kiss can ever replace a kiss sent through e-cards.
