What is WRONG with America’s Financial Education?

Nine out of ten people are suffering and drowning financially. Many people are in credit card debt, are up side down on their mortgage payments, and have no retirement or have lost a great deal in their 401k plans. There is a big urgency in learning and doing something before it’s too late and time passes us by. The opportunity has never been greater to start getting your Financial Education. Nearly 96 Million Baby Boomers will be facing retirement in the next 10-20 years, without proper planning many will be forced to stay in the work force longer and never get to truly enjoy their golden years.

There is only one thing we can blame our economy situation on, Lack of Financial Education in America!!

I do not know about you, but my family never educated me on how money worked. We never sat at the dinner table and talked about the current stock prices or if our equity in our home had risen or fallen. To be honest, it was hard enough to get our whole family at the dinner table all at once. Can you relate?

My lovely mother was a single mom of five who worked really hard to provide food, shelter, and clothing for my brother, sisters, and I just like any other regular family in America. Being that she was a business owner I saw her get up everyday to work her barber shop. Two things that she did teach me were how to get up and make money and how to quickly spend all the money that was made.

The one thing that I was not taught growing up was how to SAVE my money and have it work to accumulate more money for me. Her famous words were “as long as I have food on the table and you have somewhere to sleep we are ok”. I believe I was never Financially Educated by my mother because she was never educated by my grandparents. Unfortunately, I see this everyday with not only my family but with many American families today. We simply are not getting the Financial Education in our homes and in our school systems. Its an epidemic if you ask me. AMERICA WAKE UP!! It’s time for a change. Time to start getting educated on HOW MONEY WORKS that way we can change our future and the future of our country.

If our country was Financially Educated

I believe that we wouldn’t be in the economic crisis that we are facing as a whole country today. As a country, we are in trillions, yes trillions of dollars in debt. The saddest part is that it will take a very long time to pay off our debts that our children will not pay them off in their life time. It will take a couple generations for it to be paid off.
